By pdkesq
I bought the 2011 model for my 7 year old daughter for Christmas last year.
Assembly:
As the review before me said, it did take a little time to assemble, but mine had all the parts and I didn't expect a kickstand, because I noticed that one was not pictured with the product. That said, assembling the bike isn't all that tough. All the pieces go together in a very logical way. Simply looking at the picture is all the guidance you'll need if you get stuck.
Finished Product:
This is a solid bike. Diamondback has been around for decades, and they make pretty good quality bikes in my experience. This one in particular feels very sturdy and the quality of the design and components are evident when you see it up close. My daughter loves that the seat is so wide and well-cushioned. And, the cruiser style provides a very comfortable riding position. She had barely learned to ride when we purchased this bike for her, and she was just big enough for the 20" frame size (leave room to grow into it because this bike will last you a few years easy). Luckily, the seat position can be set very low, which makes this bike a great pick for a child that is just on the cusp of fitting a 20" bike.
Moreover, the wheels are quite wide and are largely flat across the tread which allows a lot of surface contact and seems to help her balance (maybe I'm imagining that but when you see the tires you'll know what I mean). She had only ridden a couple of times before getting this bike, and she took to it like a duck to water.
Bottom Line:
This is a stylish, classy, well-designed, good-quality, sturdy bike that I bet your kid will love and will likely last a few years. In fact, I am buying this years model for my other daughter who is a year older but smaller than her lil sis. She has ridden her sister's bike and commented on how comfortable and easy to ride it is.

By scott anderson
The bike is a nice product for the price but it was missing some crucial bolts to put it together. The box was torn when it arrived and some of the parts had fallen out:( ouch. Had to go to Home Depot to get replacements. Not fun when you want to put the bike together on X-mas eve!!

By Joseph O Stalker
Bike was everything described. Basic skills & tools for easy assembly. Took me about 30 mins on a late Christmas Eve night. I did change out the seat post clamp from a nut/bolt to a quick release lever so I can change the seat height more easily. Does NOT come with kick stand but the stand off of my daughter's previous bike fit just fine. She outgrew her other bike in 1 year, this one should last at least 2 years with proper care. Highly recomended for 6-8 year olds.
